Behavior of High-speed Trains Moving on Bridges during Earthquakes
When an earthquake hits a high-speed train, derailment becomes a serious threat. A recent example of derailment took place on March 4,2010 in southern Taiwan. The Jiasian earthquake led to the Taiwan High Speed Rail slightly derailing with fortunately no casualties in this accident. Thus ,the purpose of this paper is to study the reasons of this derailment event using nonlinear finite element analyses.
