Parameter Analysis for Skew Angle on the Seismic Torsion Effect of Continuous Skew Girder Bridges
The seismic damage of continuous skew girder bridge such as large displacement of bridge girder and piers bearing capacity damage frequently happen. Based on an actual project ,this paper established numerical analytical models for continuous skew girder bridges with the same span and pier. Especially, GAP element was taken into account to simulate impact effect between bridge abut -ment and bridge girder. Nonlinear time history analysis was employed to investigate seismic torsion effect reflected mainly by seismic rotational displacement of bridge girder and seismic torque at the bottom of pier with or without considering impact effect ,respectively. The comparison of seismic responses in two cases show that impact and skew angle are the two key factors which significantly af -feet the seismic torsion effect of continuous skew girder bridges.
