Running Safety of a Passenger Train on Subgrade in Earthquake
A train-track-subgrade coupled model is established to analyze running safety of a passen -ger train in earthquake. Using the San Fernando ground motion , dynamic responses of the train -track-subgrade systems are calculated. Furthermore, influences of the earthquake intensity and the running speed on train running safety are analyzed. Finally, the running safety boundary for a pas -senger train in the earthquake is presented in the paper. The results show that the carbody acceleration and the wheel-rail vertical force increase linearly with the earthquake intensity , while the wheel-rail lateral force, the wheel load reduction rate and the derailment coefficient increase nonlinearly. Moreover, the wheel-rail vertical force and the wheel load reduction rate increase linearly with the train speed, while the carbody acceleration ,the wheel-rail lateral force and the derailment coefficient increase nonlinearly. As for the running safety boundary of the passenger train ,the wheelset lateral force is generally the first index exceeding the safety limit value , then which followed by the wheel -rail lateral force, the derailment coefficient and the wheel load reduction rate in turn.
