Relationship among Transformational Leadership,Transactional Leadership, Trust and Job Performance—Take Civil Servants at the Municipal Level as an Example
Based on transformational leadership theory, transactional leadership theory and social exchange theory, 176 civil servants at the municipal level were investigated to explore the effect of different leadership on job performance and the mediating role of trust. Structural equation modeling and regression analysis were used to examine the specific relations among transformational leadership, transactional leadership, trust, and job performance. The results showed: (1) transformational leadership and transactional leadership were both significantly related to job performance; (2) transformational leadership can not predict more job performance than transactional leadership; (3) trust was a mediator on the relationship between transformational leadership and job performance, while it was not a mediator on the relationship between transactional leadership and job performance.
