Review and Reflection of the Research on Chinese Public Security Incident Warning and Emergency

With Chinas rapid economic development and urbanization, a series of public safety incidents take new challenge to governments governing ability. In the new century, the public safety attracted the attention of scholars in related fields and a trend is occurring that the number of researchers is growing continuously, the scope of the study is expanding and the achievement is enriching. This article analyzes, summarizes and evaluates the Chinese Public Security Incident Warning and Emergency literature that data from the CNKI social science database from 2000 to 2010. The analysis shows that, the research on Chinese Public Security Incident Warning and Emergency has some deficiencies: study with low quality overall; research lacks of academic standardization and innovation; research perspective is single and methodology is unbalanced; theory and practice are out of touch.
