The Influence of Micro-blog on the Cyber-Political Participation in China
With the development of science and technology, people increasingly rely on the internet due to its irreplaceable convenience, openness, efficiency and diversity. Moreover, peoples enthusiasm for taking part in political events via internet has also risen since the appearance of micro-blog in China 2009. This paper focuses on the influences of micro-blog on the cyber-political participation. Fristly, it discusses the current situation of cyber-political participation in China and the method of literature research is used to identify previous works that have been done by some renowned scholars in this field. Then, several typical examples are illustrated to analyze the new communication platform, micro-blog, specially its positive and negative effects on network political participation. At last, relevant measures on how to improve peoples behavior in political participation via micro-blog is pointed out. This article aims to show the importance of the new platform, micro-blog, in cyber-political participation and to create a more standardized and legalized environment for micro-blogging political participation.
