1 Introduction In contemporary societies, it is a fact that under globalization, market principles are being encouraged by governments to capture the entire space for economic activity, thereby relieving the state of its responsibilities. This era, which is dominated by a neo-liberal policy environment in India, the credibility and visibility gained by the private sector as engines of development, is rather astounding.
