Analysis on the Actions of Government Executives According to Hypothesis of the Rational Economic Man

Government executives have dual identities. They fulfill administrative duties on behalf of government as well as deal personal affairs as ordinary people. Behaviors of government executives embody their mentality as rational economic man. To chase self interests as a natural person, government executive would work hard in case their power equals responsibilities. On the other hand if there is discordance between their powers and responsibilities they are likely chase for chances to abuse their powers. It can be concluded that the discordance between rights and responsibilities can be the major reason leads to government executives bad acts. To avoid government executives bad acts, the powers and responsibilities which they are given must achieve equal.
