On the Research of the Model of Ideal Personality under the View of Utilitarianism: On the Characters of Modern Ethical Leadership in China
The pursue for the ideal personality in Chinese traditional culture shows new meanings under the view of utilitarianism: the revise of the meaning of moral corresponding to the esprit of the modern ethical leadership. As the theory with the characteristic of modernity, utilitarianism means the confirming of the utility of the individuals and the propagating the teleology, which brings on not the pursuit for the suspended morality but the democratic ideal personality under the reversal of the debate between righteousness and profitableness. On the one hand, the Chinese ideal personality lays stress on the development of virtue, which means that profitableness is not the only moral principle. On the other hand, democratic ideal personality contains the demand for the freedom, equality, independent personality and dignity, which make the moral the new meaning: Institutional Moral. The model of the ethical leadership which emphasizes the effect of examples and moral actors not only establishes on the theory of deontology and virtue ethics but also on the theory of pleasure and interest (the Leli theory).The model of ideal personality under the view of utilitarianism that gives the new meaning of moral make the Chinese modern ethical leadership give consideration to both moral guide and interests protection, both character sharp and institutional construction. Under the construction of faire and equal institution, private virtues and public virtues play an active role in the process of the leadership and realize the model of the moral management which is corresponding to the interests drive.
