Research on the Leisure Constraints of Rural Residents—Based on a Survey in Northeast China

Leisure constraints mean no access to leisure or factors affecting the quality of leisure activities. Studies found that rural residents of different personal backgrounds meet with different barriers to participation in leisure activities which can be summarized as intrapersonal constraints, interpersonal barriers and structural constraints. Rural residents with different gender, age, marital status, economic status, family structure, working experience and leisure time make difference in these three dimensions of leisure constraints.
