Research on Dynamic Selection of Cultural Integration Mode of Cross-Border M & A for Chinese Enterprise -A Case Analysis of Lenovo Merged and Acquisitioned IBM
Based on the perspective of enterprise culture integration, this paper builds a multi-stage cultural integration selection model, with X, Y axis representing the willingness of absorbing each others enterprise culture, Z-axis showing the stage of culture integration, and conduct a case study by using this model to analyze the cultural integration of the Lenovo Groups merger with IBMs global PC Business. Taking into account the particularities and difficulties Chinese companies may encounter in cross-border M&A. With the fall understanding and respect of culture differences, enterprises can take a dynamic and progressive model, which is along the following path: the introduction of learning mode (learning advanced culture from the target company) —integration mode (mutual absorption and integration of each others superior culture) —innovation mode (to form a new enterprise culture system).
