Startupss Motives for Alliance: The Effectuation and Causation Approach
To overcome the uncertainty of the entrepreneurship and the liability of the newness, the entrepreneurs tend to form and take part in the alliances with other entity. Although the co-operative behaviors of the new ventures have been analyzed deeply by previous studies with various organizational theories, it seems that the vital role of the entrepreneurial process, i.e.the decision-making of the entrepreneurs was ignored. Base on a new view—the effectuation theory, we discussed the alliance motives of the entrepreneurs under different decision modes effectuation and causation, and also the differences between the Startupss alliances due to the above two modes concerned. Finally, the assumptions for the relationship between decision modes and alliance types are proposed.
