Latent Absorptive Capacity, Applying Capacity and Firm Performance
Based on the work of Cohen and Levinthals research on absorptive capacity, we develop the concept of latent absorptive capacity (abbr., LAC), and investigate the influence of the LAC on firms knowledge applying capacity and performance. The main findings are: (1) The LAC constructed by learning orientation, market orientation and corporate experience has constructive validity; (2) There are positive relations among the LAC, applying capacity and firms performance; and (3) There are substitutive effect between the LAC and the applying capacity.
