The Impact of Proactiveness Strategic Orientation on Human Capital and Human Capital Investment

As a kind of strategic orientations, proactiveness plays an important role in the increasingly fierce competition. Some of the present study considered that the proactive enterprises are inclined to buy human resource, rather than invest in the present human capital. However, this study took the data of the enterprises in Sichuan Province and Guangdong Province as cases, investigated the relationship between proactiveness and human capital, human capital investment. The research shown that: (l)The enterprises with higher proactiveness have higher level of value-added investment, such as training, as well as value-maintained investment, such as recruiting. Thus they have higher level of human capital; (2) Human capital investment plays a mediation role between proactiveness and human capital.
