New Concepts about the Essence of Safety System and Operation Mechanism Based on Chaos Science
The viewpoint that safety system has chaotic dynamic characteristics will be put forward at the first time in this paper. And the connotation of this viewpoint will be analyzed based on the analysis of the basic attribute of safety system. Modern scientific knowledge in chaos science, including dissipative structure, synergetics, catastrophe theory, will be applied tentatively to deeply discuss the operational mechanism of safety system. The research shows that safety system, a complex one with chaos attributes, exists in the form of dissipative structure and has internal existing fluctuations. Besides, the synergy of the three elements of man-machine-environment within safety system exerts effects upon the fluctuations of the system, and at the same time occasional accidents occur in the form of mutation. Accidents can be seen as the consequence of partial destabilization resulted from the magnified perturbation in the safety system. Further understanding of the essential rule of safety system is beneficial for developing traditional safety concept, and for deepening innovation on safety principles. It is especially conducive for guiding the direction of safety management, and for optimizing the methods of safety management.
