Human Evacuation Behaviors Effected by Smoke Movement of Mine Fires

To investigate influence of smoke movement of mine fires on miner evacuation behavior, miner evacuation behaviors under coal lane fires are analyzed by Fire Dynamic Simulation (FDS), combined with human behavior modes. Two environmental conditions in the coal mine lanes were set to study the distribution of concentration and temperature of the smoke movement under various ventilation speeds. Miners behavior and evacuation action effected by smoke movement were explored. Based on smoke movement simulation, available safety evacuation time for miners involved in coal mine fire located in different sites was estimated. The basic process of human evacuation under the fire smoke movement in the lanes was been advanced. Two evacuation models are designed according to simulation results and miner behavior. Therefore, the research can provide a reference for smoke movement and evacuation design in coal mine lane fires.
