Study on Effectiveness of Traffic Sign Setting in Adjacent Tunnel Entrance
Adjacent tunnel groups are in close proximity, and there are great interactions between the exit of the rear tunnel and the entrance of the front tunnel, prone to visual impairment, affecting the driver of the tunnel exit and accurate knowledge of traffic signs. In order to improve the visual recognition accuracy of the export traffic signs of the adjacent tunnel and reduce traffic accidents, the paper analyzes the traffic signs setting problems for adjacent tunnel groups based on ergonomics and traffic flow theory from the adjacent tunnel group characteristics. The paper analyzes the conditions of how the drivers make effective use of passed information from traffic signs. Based on analysis of the relationship among visual inertia and variety velocity of pupil area, theoretical models of how to effectively establish traffic signs was set up. The proposed model is tested in adjacent tunnel groups of Liuan-W uhan expressway, and road safety, location, reasonable depression angle and exit distance of adjacent tunnel group traffic signs are calculated and analyzed. The model is with verified rationality. The results can provide theoretical guidance for how to set up exit traffic signs of the adjacent tunnel groups scientifically.
