And presently, behind the large number of student dormitories constructions, there exists many problems such as space design unreasonable, emphasizing indicators but neglecting practical function, and lacking humanized design, etc. In this paper, it from perspective of safety ergonomics, taking the multifunctional furniture in student dormitories of Zhengzhou University for example, carries on current status evaluation and optimized improvement design on existing problems or phenomena not conforming to safety ergonomics in the design of furniture(such as beds, bookshelves and storage racks, wardrobes, computer desks and writing desks, etc.), so as to design new-type multifunctional student dormitory beds that accord with students physiological and psychological needs, and create a better living and studying environment for them. The optimized design effects show that the improved multifunctional furniture no matter from performance or function, both more accords with the design principles of safety ergonomic.
