Application of Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction Combined with UV-Vis Spectrophotometry for Preconcentration and Determination of 2-Methylaziridine in Water Samples
In this paper, we developed a novel and powerful method for preconcentration and spectrophotometric determination of trace amounts of 2methylaziridine in water samples by using dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) technique. The method is based on derivatisation of 2methylaziridine with two reagents, include Folin,s reagent (1,2-naphthoquione-4-sulphonic acid) and 2,4,6-trinitro benzenesulphonic acid (TNBS), separately, and extraction of product using DLLME technique. Some important parameters, such as reaction conditions and the kind and volume of extraction solvent and disperser solvent and concentration of reagents were studied and optimized. Under the optimum conditions, the calibration graphs were linear for Folin,s and TNBS reagents in the range of 10-800 and 3-250 ng mL-1 with detection limit 5.0 and 1.0 ng mL-1, respectively. Average recoveries for spiked samples were determined to be between 95-105%. The proposed method was applied for determination of 2-methylaziridine in water samples.
