Synthesis of 1,5-Bis(p-toluenesulfonyl)-1,5-diazcyclooctane-3,7-dioxime as Potential High Energetic Intermediate
The syntheses of new 1,5-bis(p-toluenesulfonyl)-1,5-diazcyclooctane-3,7-dioxime(7) is reported. The unusual cyclodimerization of p-toluenesulfonamide and epichlorohydrin is described to prepare 1,5-bis(p-toluenesulfonyl)-3,7-dihydroxyoctahydro-1,5-diazocine(4), which is oxidated to the corresponding ketone 1,5-bis(p-toluenesulfonyl)-1,5-diazocine-3,7-dione (5), followed by oximation reaction to obtain the compound 7. The cis and trans isomers of diol 4 (4a and 4b) have been identified by spectral and chemical means and we have investigated its optimal experimental conditions. Our ultimate aim is to achieve a potential energetic intermediate, containing difluoramino structural components, initiated by amination of dioxime 7 and fluorination of its corresponding amine, and the further study is still in progress.
