Preparation of Film Mg-PTFE Pyrotechnic Composite by Vacuum Evaporation
Film Mg-PTFE pyrotechnic composite was obtained in this paper by vacuum evaporating Mg layer on PTFE film. Properties of the Mg-PTFE Pyrotechnic Composite, including surface morphology, thermal decompostion, combustion heat, combustion temperature and combustion rate, were studied. Results show that the depositing layer covers completely on PTFE film, coating layers are flaky particles sized between 1μm and 5μm. The first thermal value of the pyrotechnic composite is 11.831MJ?kg-1, complete oxygen rich combustion heat is 21.171 MJ?kg-1, combustion temperature is 1147℃ and the combustion rate is 54.05mm.s-1. This study illustrates that the Mg-PTFE-Mg film energetic material prepared by vacuum evaporation method combusts very fast and stably, but the combustion heat is relatively low due to the limitation of maximum amount of Mg deposition.
