Non-isothermal Decomposition Kinetics, Heat Capacity, Thermal Safety Properties of 1, 2, 3-Triazolium Nitrate

The thermal behavior of 1,2,3-triazolium nitrate (TAZN)was studied under a non-isothermal condition by SC-DSC method.The kinetic parameters of thermal decomposition reaction of TAZN were obtained from analysis of the SC-DSC curves by Kissingers method,Ozawas method,the differential method and the integral method.The results show that the kinetic model function in integral form and the values of apparent activation energy (E a)and pre-exponential constant (A)for the decomposition reaction of TAZN are 4/3(1-α)-ln(1-α)1/4,85.10 kJ ·mol-1 and 10 7.91s-1,respectively.The entropy of activation (ΔS≠),enthalpy of activation (ΔH≠),and Gibbs free energy of activation (ΔG≠)of the reaction are:-102.67 J ·mol-1·K-1,81.53 kJ ·mol -1and 125.32 kJ ·mol-1for T=T p=426.46 K corresponding β →0 and E=Ek=85080 J· mol-1,A=Ak=108.02S-1obtained by Kissingers method.Its specific heat capacity was determined with the continuous C p mode of Micro-DSC III microcalorimeter.The equation of C p to temperature was obtained.The standard molar heat capacity of TAZN was 160.34 J ·mol-1·K-1 at 298.15K.The self-accelerating decomposition temperature (T SADT),critical temperature of thermal explosion (T b),adiabatic time-to-explosion (t Tlad)and critical temperature of hot-spot initiation (T cr)of TAZN obtained were 389.02K,404.50K,32.27s and 687.56K, respectively.
