A New Parameter to Characterize Diffusion of TDI to EPDM Insulation in Liquid Absorption Test
A new parameter, the surface area diffusion rate represented by As, was proposed to characterize the diffusion of TDI to EPDM insulation in liquid absorption test. The results indicated that As was independent of the sample size and was a more suitable characterization parameter for diffusion compared with the usually used parameter of weight gain ratio. The correlation between As and interface bonding properties of propellants was also discussed. The results suggested that the samples with relatively high As had better interface bonding properties.
