Wave Parameters Determination of Azide Silver Explosive Decomposition Process
A propagation of azide silver explosion decomposition wave initiated by laser pulse was researched. The wave front velocity and width of the explosive decomposition of filiform and pressed powder samples were experimentally estimated as V=1.2 ± 0.2 km/s, l=230 ± 30 μm and V=4.0 ± 0.4 km/s, l=110 ± 10 μm correspondingly. It was shown that the wave front is roughly equal when the reaction wave velocity is V=1.2 ± 0.2 km/s: the width is 110 ± 10 μm for the rising edge and 120 ± 20 μm for the falling edge. In the detonation wave (V=4.0 ± 0.4 km/s) the rising edge is more steep than the falling one. The wave front velocity in preliminary irradiated filiform azide silver samples was measured. It was shown that preliminary irradiation with light λ=380 nm leads to slight velocity decreasing. The results received are in agreement with the model of solid phase chain propagation in azides heavy metal.
