Research on Charge Utilization Ratio of Explosive Energy under Different Water Depth

Using simulating deep water blasting pressure vessel, the explosion energy was researched under 0.6m water depth and from 10.6m to 90.6m simulating water depth using by 8# detonator. It is drawn that specific shockwave energy keeps invariant although the water depth changes, but the specific bubble energy will decrease with water depth increasing. Cement mortar test block was blasted under the same water depth charge, meanwhile, residual shockwave and bubble wave were measured. Utilization ratio of specific shockwave energy is up to 92.43%, and utilization ratio of specific bubble energy reaches 48.90%.aimed at mass percent of large block is proportional to water depth. Relationship on water depth, charge unit explosive consumption and block degree was discussed, and empirical formula of water depth and specific charge was regressed combined with experimental data. The research results have reference value for the blasting design under different depth of water and specific charge calculation.
