Experimental Study on Afterburning Effect of TNT
The explosion source of TNT was studied in this paper, and a double-layer test device, which was filled with different gases and designed for enhancing the afterburning effect of explosives with negative oxygen balance, was used. After the underwater explosion of the charges in the test devices, which were filled with oxygen, air and nitrogen under pressure of 0.6 Mpa and 4.6 Mpa respectively, the shock wave and bubble signals were studied. The shock wave energy, bubble energy and total energy were calculated respectively, and a method for calculating the energy of afterburning reaction was introduced. The results show that this test device can enhance the afterburning effect of TNT significantly, the afterburning effect in oxygen is stronger than that in air under the same pressure, and the afterburning effect under pressure of 4.6 Mpa is stronger than that under 0.6 Mpa in the same gas. The afterburning effect depends on the amount of oxygen filled.
