Experimental Investigation and Analysis of Safe Distance of Propagation of Detonators
There is not the model that quantitative description for the problem of propagated blast theory. The safety distance of propagated blast for 100 DDPN primary explosive detonators and 100 non-primary explosive detonators is tested by lift-descending method in this article. The overpressure measurement in the blast field of detonator was carried out. The calculated result for the pressure field was major difference with the experiment. The reason of this difference was analyzed. The results under the experimental conditions can be used to guide the actual production line. Usually the energy output of the detonator reduced to three elements, shock waves, explosive fragment and hot gases. The experimental results show, the major factor of detonation of one detonator was the shock wave of the main detonator, but for the 100 detonators the main detonators explosive sent a shock wave and explosive gases are the direct cause of detonators. The experiment is very useful for the study of propagation blast of detonator.
