Erosive Effect on the Burning Rate of Multi-perforation Propellants in Closed Bomb Test
This paper studies combustion characteristics under laser irradiation of three groups of propellants. Our original fuel-rich propellants (AP/HTPB=20/80) are non-self-combustible propellant at back pressure up to 1.0 Mpa, laser could control including, ignition, interruption and re-ignition easily, however, SQ-2 and HTPB propellant are self-sustained combustion propelllant, without laser irradiation they can burn continuously. The dependence of burning rate on laser power density of SQ-2 and HTPB propellant could be described by a piece-wise function. The break point is an important character of these solid propellants, one of main reason induced break point is the loss of radiant energy before the radiant energy reaches the surface of condensed phase.
