Combustion Properties of Minimum Signature Propellant Containing HNIW
Burning rate,flame structure and temperature distribution of combustion wave of composite modified double base propellant containing hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane (HNIW-CMDB propellant)have been studied.The burning rate of this propellant increases linearly with the pressure increasing (between 2 MPa and 22 MPa)and does not change with HNIW content when HNIW content is less than 50%.The burning rate pressure exponent reaches more than 0.8 between 8MPa and 18MPa.There is obviously dark zone above the burning surface of HNIW-CMDB propellant,and some bright luminous flame jets ejecting from burning surface in dark zone when the added amount of HNIW is less than 28%.While there is no obvious dark zone above the burning surface of HNIW-CMDB propellant when HNIW content is greater than 28%.The approximately temperature and width of several combustion zones under 2MPa,4MPa and 6MPa are attained by the differential curve method of treating the temperature distribution of combustion wave of HNIW-CMDB propellant obtained by the П mode miniature thermocouple.
