Kinetics and Mechanisms of Silver Azide Crystals Explosive Decomposition

Nowadays there are two different types of models used for the description of the energetic materials explosive decomposition: chain models and thermal explosion models. Azide heavy metals are the unique energetic materials because of their capability to show one of it in case of different initiating agent 1-4. The main purpose of this article is to analyze the different types of the explosive decomposition models for the azide heavy metals initiated by laser pulses, and compare the results of this analysis with the experimental data. It was shown that the most probable models are the bimolecular and the self-imperfection model. Self-imperfection model is a most probable solid state chain model in case of the stationary action. In case of the impulse action, chain reaction bimolecular model describes in adequate mode a number of experimental data and the process criterions. The effects, prescribing in terms of the model, were found out experimentally.
