Energy Property of Composite Double Base Propellant Containing HNIW
The energy properties of composite modified double base (CMDB) propellants containing hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane (HNIW) are calculated by propellant energy calculation program. The energy properties of HNIW are compared with those of other six kinds of energetic materials under the same condition. The calculated results show that the energy properties of HNIW monopropellant are excellent. The energy of double base propellant can be improved when HNIW is added into the propellant. And the energy characteristic parameters increase with HNIW content increasing. The improving degrees of theoretical specific impulse and properties velocity by HNIW are lower than those of ammonium dinitramide (AND), are better than those of Hexogen (RDX), N-guanylureadinitramede (FOX-12) and 1,1-diamino-2,2-dinitroethylene (FOX-7), are eqyal to those of 3,4-dinitrofurazanfuroxan (DNTF) and 1,3,3-trinitroazetidine (TNAZ) when the mass fractions of these energetic additives are equal in CMDB propellants.
