Study on Failure Mechanism of Solid Propellant by the Drop
We studied the failure mechanism of a double based propellant and a composite modified double base propellant by the overload machine of the drop hammer impact test. When the overload impact is more than 23000 g, we studied that the adiabatic compression blast of the air which between the gap of the charge and the mold is the inherent failure mechanism of the detonation.
