Study on Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons on the Aquatic Animals: A Minimum Review
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are typical, permanent and widespread contaminants in the natural water. PAHs can directly or indirectly result in teratogenic, mutagenic and carcinogenic effects in living organisms and the effects can be transferred from generation to generation. Therefore,PAHs are attracting increasing attention and PAHs study becomes more and more important in the field of contamination research. The present paper reviews the studies of PAHs on the aquatic animals, which will benefit the protection of water environment and aquatic organisms and contribute to the research, management and control of PAHs as well as the production of safe aquatic products.
