Trade Pressure on China from US under the Background of US being back in Asia-In the Perspective of Values
The resurgence of Asia is one of the epochal events of our time. It is a renaissance that is not only transforming the face of this vast region, but throwing open new opportunities for billions of people on both sides of the Pacific — Americans and Asians alike --to build a safer, more prosperous and freer world. In order to seize these opportunities, the United States requires strong leadership and an unequivocal commitment to Asia. In this context, after years of neglect, the Obama administration has been seeking to sustain and strengthen Americas leadership in the Asia-Pacific region and to improve security, heighten prosperity, and promote its values. As secretary of state, Hillary Clinton said, much of the history of the 21 st century will be written in Asia. For paying sufficient attention to Asia, particularly the rise of China, the Obama administration is carrying out a policy of being back in Asia.In Asia, the rise of China is especially important. After three decades of spectacular growth, China passed Japan in 2010 to become the worlds second-largest economy behind the United States. It is the first time for a country with a 1.3 billion population to grow up economically. For rapid and continued economic growth, China has been thought to begin to reshape the way the global economy functions by virtue of its growing dominance of trade, its huge hoard of foreign exchange reserves and United States government debt and its voracious appetite for oil, coal, iron ore and other natural resources in the eyes of Americans.
