The Study of SOA-based FMIS
The facilities management is a very crucial approach to improve production efficiency, decreasing investment and maintenance cost, helping managers to make a right decision. Yet, some problems exist during the process of the information systems applications: such as decentralized planning, isolated construction, only focusing on one side of the business or management. These result in the heterogeneity between enterprise information systems and producing information isolated islands. Service-oriented Architecture (SOA) connects different functions of the application service units through well-defined interfaces and contracts. Based on the practice of facilities management information system (FMIS) in a large-scale vehicle plant, this paper studies the FMIS architecture design and implementation. The SOA architecture is used and revised to form a flexible and rational framework and to implement the loosely coupled, coarse-grained application.
