Acquisition of gated spectra from white-light continuum using ultrafast Kerr gate of SrTiO3 crystal
We investigated the optical Kerr effect of SrTiO3 (STO) crystal, which showed an ultrafast response of less than 200 fs and a large nonlinear refractive index of 1.97×10-15 cm2/W. Using optical Kerr gate (OKG) technique with a STO crystal, we obtained narrow-bandwidth and symmetric gated spectra from the white-light continuum generated in water with a femtosecond laser. The experimental results showed more superiority comparing with the gated spectra obtained by OKG with CS2 as Kerr medium.
