The Application of Expertise Knowledge Map in Human Resource Management

In the age of knowledge economy, knowledge has become the most important intelligence assets for enterprises. Knowledge workers are the key strategic resources in modern organizations. Human resource management becomes very important for the organizations in the competitive environment. Managers are seeking for the ways to better manage the human resource in order to improve the performance of organization. Expertise knowledge map, as a tool of representing employees competency, can be used to manage the human resource in human resource planning, human resource use, human resource appreciation and so on. In this paper we discuss the process of constructing an expertise knowledge map and illustrate the different visualization styles of expertise knowledge map for different purposes.
