Failure of State-Owned Enterprises In Benin

This paper investigates the importance of government owned enterprises in the development process and try to find out the main factors of its failure in developing country like Benin. Two mains objectives are developed and constitute the essential elements of the competitiveness of those companies: the first is to identify a web of variables associated with failures of SOEs, and what are the potential factors contributing to SOEs growth and the second is to figure out appropriate set of recommendations to avoid SOEs failure. Each of these should be considered as critical to the success of the companies. The paper also provides practical implications for creating a competitive advantage in modern state-owned firms.
