Eco-economic system evaluation and sustainable management in Gansu based on Emergy analysis
Based on the method of Emergy Analysis, in this paper we investigate and characterize the state of eco-economy system of Gansu during 1995-2007 , it could be concluded that the change tendency of output efficiency of economic subsystem get reduced in 13 years, the economic development stage of Gansu is at lower level; peoples living standard and life quality is low and has been declining trend; Waste Emergy Ratio(W) and Emergy Waste Rate (EWR) are fluctuating upward trend, waste emissions make growing pressure on environment, meanwhile increase of the renewable resources emergy can optimize the energy use structure of Gansu. Most emergy indexes analysised objectively reveal the unsustainable state of the ecological economic system in Gansu and its continuously reducing situation of sustainable development ability. In conclusion ecoeconomic systems of Gansu are evaluated, suggestions are discussed for the transition of economic developmental patterns and sustainability management of Gansu.
