The Empircal Research of the Relationship between Board Governance and Corporate Competitiveness of the Listed Companies of Iron and Steel Industry in China

摘要：

Board governance is the core of corporate governance and has an important influence on.the enhancement of corporate competitiveness.This paper takes the listed companies of iron and steel industry in China as the research samples and makes the empircal research on the relationship between board governance and corporate competitiveness.The results show that: appropriate size of the board and the set of board committees have a positive role in promoting the competitiveness of enterprises;excessive number of board meetings is not beneficial to enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises;the proportion of independent directors,board leadership structure and directors salary dont affect the competitiveness of enterprises obviously. Finally,on the basis of empirical research findings,this paper gives some recommendations on developing and improving the board governance and corporate competitiveness of listed companies of iron and steel industry in China.
