An Empirical Study on the Impact of the Internet-aided College English Teaching on the Learners Motivation

After the issue of the Requirements for the College English Teaching by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2004, college English teaching in China has witnessed tremendous changes not only in teaching materials and pedagogics but also in teaching modes and instruments. The mode of internet-aided college English teaching has been widely adopted in Chinese universities and colleges in hope to foster students communicative ability in English and autonomous study capability. This study on the basis of an investigation of the students in Hebei University of Economics and Business demonstrates that this mode has had a positive influence on the motivation of the students in their College English learning and that their motivation is mostly instrumentally oriented..
