Design of Explosive-to-electrical Transducers Served as Primary Source of Conventional-ammunition-borne Magnetic Flux Compression Generator

Ferroelectric ceramics could release electric charge in microseconds when loaded by shock waves, which made it qualified to serve as small portable primary source of conventional-ammunition-borne magnetic flux compression generator. This paper introduced the principle of ferroelectric ceramics working as explosive-to-electrical transducers in vertical loading mode, and the equivalent circuit model constructed firstly. Shock wave equipment was theoretically designed and simulated. The simulation showed that the shock wave loading equipment fulfilled the requirements in planeness. Then it analyzed the impact of the size parameters and the amounts to the output current. A tentative design to maximize the explosive-to-electrical efficiency of ferroelectric ceramics in pillar-volume was provided, it could serve as a theoretical foundation for the design of power source of conventional-ammunitionborne in the future.
