Research Progress and Application Fields of Wireless Power and Information Synchronous Transmission Technology

Electricity power is non-contact transferred to devices by electromagnetic field or electromagnetic waves in wireless power transmission systems, and this mode is safe, reliable, and flexible. Electromagnetic induction, magnetic resonant, microwave and laser are the four main techniques used in wireless power transmission. The first one is suitable for millimeter-distance transmission, and the technology is comparatively mature. The magnetic resonant mode is still in research stage, which can achieve meter-distance transmission. Microwave and laser can transfer further distance, but efficiency is relatively lower. Finally, the significant and potential application fields of wireless power and information synchronous transmission technology are proposed.
