Experimental Studies of a Tandem Follow-through Warhead Penetrating Steel Plate
A tandem follow-through warhead is designed to damage and blockade the steel plate target which is composed of a forward shaped charge and a travelling projectile. In this paper, research and analysis with experiments are carried out. Experimental results reveal that within the proper range of impact velocity the size of the hole which the forward shaped charge penetrates the target matches the size of the following warhead very well and the travelling projectile can inlay into the target efficiently. The travelling projectile keeps intact and inlays firmly.
