Influence of Mechanical Performance of High-energy TEGDN Propellant Caused by Several Catalyzers

Adding a small quantity of catalyzer to high-energy TEGDN propellant, could adjust its burning performances and enhance the performance of artillery. Aiming at the addition of catalyzers could change mechanical performances of propellant, the methods of tensile test, compressing test and impactive test have been adopted to study it. It showed that the addition of a small quantity of catalyzer will change mechanical performances of propellant. The catalyzers such as NiC2O4, Fe2O3, TiO2 and Pb3O4 will depress mechanical performances of propellant small, but not effect its using normally. Mechanical performances of propellant adding ferrocene catalyzer will keep constantly or have a little improvement. When selecting catalyzers, catalyzers dispersing or soluble easily to processing solvent or propellant are better selection, it can keep mechanical performance more steadily.
