Research on the Process of High-speed Projectile Penetration into Concrete Target

By adopting LS-DYNA software and combining rigid penetration theory and semi-fluid theory, this paper studied the penetration phenomenon of high-speed ogive-nose projectile with the speed of 850m/s~ 1550m/s into concrete target. It obtained the change curve of the projectile acceleratio、 velocity、 displacement and mass with penetration time, and found that the projectile impact velocity and penetration depth existed threshold values vz、 Hz. If the projectile impact velocity exceeded vz, the penetration process was not rigid penetration, but semi-fluid penetration. With the target strength increasing, the threshold value vz became small, the penetration showed easily as semi-fluid penetration. The results of simulation are in agreement with the experimental data, which provide reference for the further study of high-speed projectile penetration into concrete target.
