Characteristics of Universal Design Environmental Installation in Subways Exits and Entrances in Osaka City
Due to the population structure of Japan is becoming more and more aging, In order to adapt to this trend, human-oriented universal design appears more important for providing a safe comfortable environment for all Japanese citizens. As a kind of urban transportation node, subway entrances and exits are considered not only as the joint of ground space and underground space, but also the transfer point for many other traffics. A good subway entrances/exits universal design could provide the citizens with a convenient environment and increase the efficiency of life and work. This study takes the subway entrances/exits of Osaka, Japan as the research object, and according to their region characteristics, the subway entrances/exits of Osaka are separated into two types as commercial area entrances/exits and residential area entrances/exits. Through the relative literature material collection and field survey, four configuration characteristics of environment(physical parameters) for the entrances/exits device were picked up. Through the field questionnaire investigation and interviews, more knowledge about satisfaction degree and problem of usability(psychological parameters) of the users in the subway entrances/exits were collected. According to the analysis of the results of the survey, it can be pointed out that the universal environment configuration device in subway entrances/exits should be designed by combining with the behavior characteristics of the users, focusing on the needs of moving disability and informative disability. (2) the general environment configuration device in subway entrances/exits should be managed according to their functional characteristics in order to provide a comfortable service for all users.
