Influence Analysis of Structural Dynamic Response to Damage and Strain-Rate Effect
Response damage of the building structure is a dynamic damage accumulating process under the action of blasting seismic wave. And construction materials mostly have evident characteristics of damage accumulation and strain-rate sensitivity. For the purpose of analyzing the influence extent of the material damage and strain-rate effect on structural dynamic response, the constitutive model established in former research for dynamic damage of rock material was adopted, and the damage as well as the dynamic response of a typical two-storey masonry structure under the action of blasting seismic wave was simulated and analyzed with LS-DYNA, also, the following conclusions are obtained Under the action of seismic wave, strain response increases exponentially when the structure is damaged, and the damage occurs earlier easily, which tends to be unsafe. Besides, structural damage can be reduced effectively when the strain-rate effect of the material is considered. Although, structural strain response may be effectively reduced when only the strain-rate effect of the material, comparatively, the increase of the maximum equivalent strain caused by the damage is primary while the maximum equivalent strain caused by the strain-rate effect is secondary.
