Study on the Application of Blasting Technology to Against the Ice Jam of Yellow River

Firstly, the ice flood cause and type, mechanical characteristics of ice medium and ice explosibility of Yellow River in inner Mongolia of China are analyzed in this paper. Secondly, the characteristics of application of conventional blasting technology to break ice jam urgently on the ice run of Yellow River. On the basis, aim at the especial character of physics and mechanics, experimental study on blasting ice-breaking by new high-energy explosion belt and shaped charge are carried out on the river way of Yellow River. And the important data are acquired in this experiment The results show that the effect of ice-breaking is very obvious. So, it offers a helpful exploration for the farther application of blasting ice-breaking technology on the ice jam of Yellow River and the protection of people life and their property safety.
