Experimental Approach for Explosive Welding Interfacial Wave

The wave pattern and size at 0Crl3Ni5Mo-Q345C interface and the welding parameters for the wave appearance and disappearance at semi-cylinder interface were observed and measured in the explosive welding experiment by using a flat plate and semicylinder as two types of base body. The critical transition velocity vT is determined. The expressions for the criterion vT and pc for the formation of the wave were discussed which can be used in the parameter design and the establishment of the weldability windows.
